JESUS CHRIST spoke of the verbal reward of those who prove to be His loyal followers. They will hear His ''well done you good and faithful servant.'' Faith results in faithfulness.
Faith in our Lord influences and impacts every phase of life. According to 269 primary care doctors surveyed at the convention of the American Academy of Family Physicians last October, faith cures disease and sustains health. Survey designer, Yankelovic Partners of Norwich, Connecticut, found that 99% of the doctors responding acknowledge the positive contribution of faith to healing.
The survey results were announced in December at the Harvard University School's conference on ''Spirituality and Healing in Medicine.''
Seventy five percent of those surveyed said praying for someone else could help in that person's medical treatment.
The faith factor, Dr. Herbert Benson, M.D., of Boston who wrote ''Timeless Healing,'' says, ''proves there is a biological role of belief in God.'' Indeed, there is. Moses is a classic example of the influence of faith, spiritually and physically, in one's life.
Moses is a classic example of one who incorporated elements of a faithful servant. He had -
I. A FAITH THAT RECEIVES (VS. 23)
His parents were Amram and Jochabed (Exodus 6:20).
As slaves their child Moses was born under the threat of death. Jochabed devised an ingenious plan. She made a basket of reeds, placed the baby in it, covered it, and hid it in the grass along the bank of the River Nile. For a young mother to entrust the child of her love to the waters of the mighty Nile took faith. However, it wasn't faith in the Nile, but in the Lord. She trusted the Lord knowing He was the only one who loved her son more than she. She trusted the future into the hands of God. In doing so she set the pattern for generations to come.
These parents established a pattern of concern for child birth and life ...
