Decisions (2 of 7)
Series: Proverbs: Biblical Street Smarts

Selected Proverbs
Open to Proverbs 2. We began a new series last week from the book of Proverbs called 'Biblical Street Smarts'. We started with looking at wisdom because that's the theme of this book from beginning to end. It's the glue that holds it all together.
Wisdom is the God-given ability to apply what I know to live how I should. We saw how godly wisdom helps us handle some of the most relevant issues of our day like money, marriage, sex, parenting, anger, our words, and our work. It's less about the fire and more about harnessing its power by keeping it in its proper place. There are a number of things in life that have the ability to either burn or bless depending on the wisdom used to harness their power and keep them in their proper, God-ordained place.
One of these areas of life that can burn or bless is decision-making. Experts tell us that the average adult makes 35,000 decisions a day. Obviously that ranges from the smallest to the most significant. If you have children multiply that number by nine zillion. Not all decisions have equal impact, but all have a cumulative effect. So every decision matters in one way or another. Keep this mind:
It's your decisions in life, not your conditions in life, that determine your direction and destination.
Your decisions determine your direction and your direction determines your destination. If you want a different destination, you must go a different direction.
