What do you do with Jesus? (4 of 28)
Series: The Gospel of Mark: The True Story of the Son of God

Mark 3:7-35

No matter what you believe about Jesus this morning... you believe SOMETHING. Jesus is not a neutral figure. Many people have very passionate feelings about Jesus. He tends to stir up deep emotion in people. Some people try to simply stay indecisive and cast him off as just a good moral teacher.

C.S. Lewis refuting the thought that Jesus could simply be viewed as a good moral teacher said, ''That is the one thing we must not say, A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic-on a level with the man who says he is a poached egg-or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God: or else a madman or something worse. You can shut Him up for a fool, you can spit at Him and kill HIm as a demon; or you can fall at HIs feet and call Him Lord and God.''

I agree with Lewis. If someone simply thinks of Jesus as a good teacher... they really haven't thought much about Him at all. The Jesus of the Bible demands that we decide. The one thing that just doesn't make sense is a namby pamby, weak, emotionless, shrugging over the shoulders at Jesus. AND THAT'S WHAT MANY CONNECTED TO THE CHURCH TRY TO DO!

Matt. 12:30- ''Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.''
Last week we saw the religious leaders begin to criticize and question Jesus authority. We saw how their legalistic commitment to dead religion had blinded them to the truth and beauty of Christ. One thing is clear. A decision must be made and that decision matters... it determines rather you are ''in'' or ''out'' with Jesus and those in and those out were shocking to those in that day.
