It Was Just a Pea Patch
Donald Cantrell
2 Samuel 23: 8a,11-12

In this sermon we will see the importance of standing our ground when the going gets tough. Shammah was willing to fight, though everyone around him fled for their lives. God has given each of us our own pea patches that he deems as important. As believers we are to place ourselves right in the middle of those pea patches and defend them. How many times do you feel as if you are alone in your Christian walk and victory seems to be fleeting, but as you boldly stand in your pea patch, the Lord can send a great victory.

I – The Select Vocation of Shammah (8a & 11a)

II – The Special Venue of Shammah (11b & 11c)

III – The Shocking Void of Shammah (11b & 11d)

IV – The Steadfast Valor of Shammah (12a & 12b)

V – The Supernatural Victory of Shammah (12c & 12d)

This sermon contains a fully alliterated outline, with sub-points.

Theme: “Shammah stood his ground in the pea patch”

"Real valor consists not in being insensible to danger, but in being prompt to confront and disarm it."

Ford reported a loss of power in the plane shortly after takeoff and tried to return to Santa Monica Airport, but never made it.

According to a report released by the National Transportation Safety Board, the main metering jet in the plane’s carburetor “was unscrewed from its seat and rotated 90 degrees.”

“The unseated jet would have allowed an increased fuel flow through the main metering orifice, producin ...
