Redeeming the Time (2)
Series: Live Generously
Josh Malone
Ephesians 5:15-18
Today I want to talk to you about redeeming the time. If we are going to live generously and make a maximizing impact for the sake of the Kingdom of God on our church, families, and neighbors... then we have to redeem the time.
I think we've all got seasons of life, and opportunities in life that we look back on with REGRET. - I do. I have times that I look back and wish I had done differently, said differently, chosen differently. - I'm willing to bet you do to. WE ALL DO!
I think the worst thing that can happen to someone is for them to get to the end of their life and to realize they WASTED their life and the opportunities that came their way.
In fact, Jesus said what good is it to gain the whole world and lose your soul. - In other words, what good is it to get everything you want in life... the money, the family, the job, the whole plan... but to then die in your sin, separated from God?
BUT what about the BELIEVER... I think it would be a tragedy for us to get to the end of our lives and to REGRET how poorly we managed what God gave us.
''I wish I had gave more, I wish I had spent more time with my kids, I wish I had read the Bible more, I wish I had told more people about Jesus, I wish I had been more involved and connected to Jesus' church.''
Listen, we all have regrets. None of us live perfectly. We will all fall short of our ultimate goal. - But let us live in such a way that we die without a sense of deep regret of a wasted Christian life. Let us not WASTE the this time we have called life, this moment. Let us not waste the opportunity of life and the opportunities it presents. Let us REDEEM THE TIME.
The Apostle Paul addresses the importance of redeeming the time in Ephesians 5:15-18.
Eph. 5:15-18- 15 Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. 17 Therefore do n ...
