Generosity Begins with God (1)
Series: Living Generously

John 3:16-18

In the coming weeks we will be learning how to steward our lives in a way that we can be more generous with our lives. - This is not a series simply about money. We will talk about money, but we are going to be talking about time, and talent, abilities, spiritual gifts... and yes our financial resources. How can we steward all God has given us toward a generous life.
I've never met anyone that takes pride in being STINGY or SELFISH. - Nobody wants to be known that way. One of the most famous Christmas themed stores is A Christmas Carol, in which the bad guy that turns good is what? STINGY, GREEDY.

People have been generous with their time, their knowledge and wisdom, their influence, their finances, their abilities... and we have benefited... at home, school, work, and in our communities. - The world needs generous people.
The funny thing is... generosity doesn't come as naturally to us as selfishness. But we are created in the image of an extremely loving and generous God. We are created in His image, and therefore we are created TO BE GENEROUS.
Today I want us to stare straight at the heart of God. I want us to gazer at His love and generosity. I want us to understand just as God's Word says we should be holy as our Heavenly Father is holy. We should also be loving and generous because our God is loving and generous. ?
Look with me at John 3:16-18 and let's look with fresh eyes, with BELIEVING eyes.
John 3:16-18- ''For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but i ...
