The Church on Mission
Josh Malone
Acts 1:8
This past week 7 of us from here at North Park were on a mission trip to Trinidad, Cuba where we were serving alongside Ebenezer Baptist Church. In a little bit you will see some pics of our trip and a video from Pastor Enoc the pastor there at Ebenezer -We saw many people come to Christ. We had the opportunity to share Christ throughout the week.
There were 19 people that we know of that indicated publicly that they trusted Christ as Lord and Savior. We also made great friendships and I think you'll see this morning our group came back rejuvenated and inspired to be more faithful witnesses.

Acts 1:4-8- And while staying with them he ordered them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, which, he said, ''you heard from me; 5 for John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.''
6 So when they had come together, they asked him, ''Lord, will you at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?'' 7 He said to them, ''It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father has fixed by his own authority. 8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.''
The book of Acts shows us how the ministry of Jesus continued through the work of the Holy Spirit in the lives of the apostles and the early church. It invites us to be a part of this work in our day.
In this passage the Apostles are thinking... now that He has risen maybe now is the time He will over throw Rome and set up an earthly Kingdom... maybe now Is ...
