Psalm 103:1-3
Open: Actual sentences found in patients' hospital charts:
1. Patient has chest pain if she lies on her left side for over a year.
2. When she fainted, her eyes rolled around the room.
3. Patient has two teenage children, but no other abnormalities.
4. (after knee surgery) On the second day the knee was better, and on the third day it disappeared.
5. She is numb from her toes down.
6. Patient suffers from occasional, constant, infrequent headaches.
7. Patient was alert and unresponsive.
8. The patient was to have a bowel resection. However, he took a job as a stock broker instead.
9. The patient refused autopsy.
10. Discharge status: Alive but without my permission.
Any series on Foundations has to include some discussion and teaching on healing.
Today I want to unpack some things that the Bible speaks on the subject of healing.
Next week we are doing something pretty special.
It will be more of an application on this teaching today. You won't want to miss it! It won't be like a normal Sunday (although I don't feel like any Sunday is normal as the Presence of God is moving through the church!)

1Bless the Lord, O my soul, And all that is within me, bless His holy name.
2Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget none of His benefits;
3Who pardons all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases;
The nature of God is restoration and wholeness. There are ''benefits'' to a relationship with God and we are told to NOT FORGET THEM!
When you talk about healing, it can bring a lot of questions to the conversation.
The Bible recounts many times that Jesus healed.
The O.T. also records miracles
We try to come up with formulas that lead to healing, or lead to the response we desire.
I've prayed for people who were healed.
I've prayed for people who were not healed.
I've been around people that believe ever ...
