A Miracle of Gratitude (7 of 16)
Series: The Miracles of Luke

Luke 17:11-19

One Sunday morning a pastor was preaching on today's text. Over and over he kept repeating Jesus' question: ''Where are the nine?'' ''Where are the nine?'' ''Where are the nine?'' This went on for some time and finally a man stood up and said, ''I don't know where the nine are but they're probably where I'd be if I had good sense!''

This might not be a bad question. This question is a simple one. Where is the gratitude for all the Lord has done for us? It's not so much what we say that demonstrates our gratitude to God as much as what we do. Talking is easy. Doing can be hard. But, it's mostly what we do that God takes notice of.

And so it was that as they went, they were cleansed. 15 And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, and with a loud voice glorified God, 16 and fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks. And he was a Samaritan. 17 So Jesus answered and said, ''Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine? 18 Were there not any found who returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?'' 19 And He said to him, ''Arise, go your way. Your faith has made you well.'' NKJV
