A Miracle of Identity (8 of 16)
Series: The Miracles of Luke
Richard Bradley
Luke 8:22-25

Who is Jesus of Nazareth? Jesus' identity is a handy piece of information don't you think? After all, He could make all the promises in the world but what good would that do us if He was a man just like any other man? I care about you but there is little or nothing I could do for you of an eternal nature except introduce you to the Savior. On the other hand, if Jesus really is the Son of God there would be absolutely nothing He couldn't do for us including preparing us for eternity.

All the miracles recorded in Luke's gospel give testimony to Jesus' identity. However, only today's miracle actually asks the question: ''Who can this be?'' If Jesus really is the Son of God He is the only one who is fully qualified to bear the burden of our sins. This miracle bears clear and convincing testimony that Jesus is who the New Testament declares Him to be.

25 But He said to them, ''Where is your faith?''
And they were afraid, and marveled, saying to one another, ''Who can this be? For He commands even the winds and water, and they obey Him!''
