Introduction
1. There is a difference between what you say you believe and believing what you say you believe. I am going to put a statement up on the screen and I don't doubt that the vast majority of people listening will say they believe this statement. The question I want to ask is, ''Do you believe what you say you believe?'' Here is the statement. If you really believe in the redeeming and transforming power of God's presence in a person's life, if you really believe that your relatives, your friends, your neighbors and your co-workers would be far better off forever if they knew Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, then the single greatest gift you can ever give to someone is an explanation of how to be rightly connected to God through Jesus Christ.[1]
2. I would find it incredulous to believe that a true follower of Jesus would deny that statement. Then, the question remains, ''Why is it that conservatively speaking 90-95% of Christians never share their faith in Christ with anyone?'' I believe deep down much of it comes back to motivation. Regardless of the source of motivation, be it love, guilt, or fear, when motivation reaches a certain level we will do what we are motivated to do and even more.
3. I read about a man who was in the woods and he heard a noise behind him and there was a grizzly bear just staring at him. The man started to run and the bear began to chase him. He knew that he could not outrun this bear. He could feel the warm, moist, breath of that bear on his neck, as he closed in tighter for the kill, and to feel the wind as that bear was making great swipes with those massive claws trying to take him down. He thought to himself, ''This is how my life is going to end and I'll never see my family again eaten by this bear.'' Then, just a few yards in front of him he saw a limb that was crossing over the path that he was running on and he thought, ''If I ...
