Luke 17:1 (NKJV) Then He said to the disciples, ''It is impossible that no offenses should come, but woe to him through whom they do come!
Things around us and in us are broken and in need of repair.
I grew up in a small town where there was an electronics repair store. A place where they actually repaired T.V.'s.
There is not much today that gets repaired in our ''throw-away society''. It seems we don't value things enough to repair them. We just move onto the next new thing.
If you do have something electronic to repair, many times the cost of repair is not worth it so you throw it away and buy a new one. Landfills have stacks of televisions, computers and such.
Relationships are worth the repair. They too, are broken in many ways, but relationships are the vehicle that bring Heaven to earth, if you will.
The relationship we have with Jesus invites not only eternity in heaven, but the blessings and resources of the Kingdom of God now.
The enemy has a favorite script to bring division. I don't know of a person in life that has not been offended in some way or has offended in some way...multiple times!
OFFEND, OFFENSE Words used two ways in the Bible: doing what is wrong oneself, or causing someone else to do wrong or to stumble.
Doing Wrong In both the Hebrew of the OT and the Greek of the NT there are several words for sin or wrongdoing having a variety of different translations. With the word ''offend'' or ''offense,'' the emphasis is on the sin being against a person or against the law, an offense against either God or man.
