Lost and Found (1 of 3)
Series: Into the Enemy's Camp

Romans 8:37
Romans 8:37 (ESV)
37No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
There has been a saying and even songs from way back that go something like,'' I read the end of the book and we win''!
The biggest problem we have is that we are not at the end of the book! In the big picture the war is won, but there is a contending here on the earth that we walk through.
In our own country's history we find examples of this. When the War of 1812 was over there was still skirmishes.
The Battle of New Orleans was famous as it was fought after the War of 1812 technically ended.
Other examples would be the Battle of Fort Bowyer, or after the Civil War ended there was a battle that continued in Texas called the Battle of Palmito Ranch.
Jesus is victorious yet there are still skirmishes, ground to be taken, and things to be overcome.
1 Corinthians 15:55-58 (ESV)
55''O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?''
56The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.
57But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
58Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.
Here is the deal. Even though the ultimate battle is won, and the sting of death defeated there are constant battles for our marriages, our families, our health, and our destiny that rages about us.
John 10:10 (ESV)
10The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.
Pastor Jack Hayford quote: The good news is that Satan has been defeated and cast out of heaven to earth. The bad news is that is where we live!
Earth has become the stage for the playing-out of a cosmic struggle between good and evil-between God and Satan.
There is an ongoing battle.
