Andy Warhol was an American artist and producer. In the 60s and 70s he was a household name and he was recognized as a leading figure in pop art. If you've never heard of him, go home and get out a can of Campbell's Soup. Andy Warhol painted the thirty-two original masters for all of the Campbell's Soup labels.

Today, Warhol is remembered more for something that was said to him than he is for his artistic work. Nat Finkelstein was shooting a cover-photo for a book when some tourists spotted Warhol and asked to have their picture taken with him. Warhol said to Finkelstein, ''Everyone wants to be famous,'' and Finkelstein replied, ''Yeah, for about fifteen minutes.''

Ever heard the expression, ''Fifteen minutes of fame?'' You can thank Andy Warhol for that. When nobodies become somebody's we call that their ''fifteen minutes of fame.''

There are some Biblical characters that are only mentioned once, giving them their Fifteen Minutes of Fame. But, as opposed to modern people who create a short-lived sensation, these one-hit wonders are remembered forever because they're in the Book.

In the providence of God, our church fathers canonized a host of one-hit-wonders. That list includes Balaam, Eutychus, Ittai the Gittite, Jabel, Jubal, and Tubal-Cain, Maher-Shalal-Hash-Baz, Shiphrah and Puah, the Rich Young Ruler, and Rhoda.

Paul reminded Timothy (2 Timothy 3):

16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.
17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
