Many times we have a tendency to take something like depression that sometimes must be treated medically and put it over in a box and say well that's only a ''medical issue.'' OR ''That's not something Christians struggle with we have the joy of the Lord!'' - We certainly have the joy of the Lord, and we also live in a fallen world. We also live in bodies that get sick, bad things happen, and yes we also sin. We aren't in Heaven, and we have not been perfected.

While at times people fail to address it... God doesn't. God allows us to see some of the great people of our faith... DEPRESSED. - The Bible is RAW TRUTH for real people, not a domesticated pep talk for people with no real problems.

God's Word is RELEVANT to your life. There is NOTHING more relevant than THUS SAYETH THE LORD. - God offers a better word, He offers hope.

In 1 Kings we are going to see Elijah, one of the great prophets of God from the OT, have a bout with depression. We are going to see what we can learn about it from his life and how to move forward from his life and how God ministered to Him in his depression.



1 Kings 19:1-8- Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, and how he had killed all the prophets with the sword. 2 Then Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying, ''So may the gods do to me and more also, if I do not make your life as the life of one of them by this time tomorrow.'' 3 Then he was afraid, and he arose and ran for his life and came to Beersheba, which belongs to Judah, and left his servant there.
