Lifestyle of Adoration (2 of 2)
Series: Return to Wonder

Luke 2:25-38
It's in this season of Christmas celebration that we sing ''O come let us adore him''.
Let's continue delving into returning to wonder and how adoring is part of the journey.
Adore: the act of worship, of paying honor, reverence, and obedience to God.
Youngblood, R. F., Bruce, F. F., and Harrison, R. K., Thomas Nelson Publishers (Eds.). (1995). In Nelson's new illustrated Bible dictionary. Nashville, TN: Thomas Nelson, Inc.
I want to approach the subject of adoration or worship as a lifestyle this morning.
We all have a lifestyle.
Lifestyle is expressed in both work and leisure behavior patterns and (on an individual basis) in activities, attitudes, interests, opinions, values, and allocation of income. It also reflects a person's self-image or self-concept; the way they see themselves and believe they are seen by the others.
You can't hide a lifestyle. If it's truly a lifestyle. Remember, ''lifestyles of the rich and famous? We have a saying, ''you can't hide your ''redneck''.
And a lifestyle of adoration/worship is not just an occasional event or momentary inspiration.
We have a tendency to worship God based on what He has done for us...and there is certainly a place for that.
Praising The Lord for His work is absolutely a core of worship.
However, many of us fall too easily into the trap of our praise being determined by the level of our breakthrough or blessing.
We need to be careful that we are not in a ''what have you done for me lately'' mode which is easy to do!
-Jesus is worthy of all praise even in the waiting season.
And it's because of who He is, not what He does!
''Jesus Christ is worthy of praise not as a transactional gift, but a positional one. We don't praise him because he saved us, we praise him because He is worthy.'' (Pastor Joel Ecklund)
