JESUS CHRIST wants to empower you with the power that enabled
Him to rise from the dead. That is, He wants to give you power
to break the habits of an old unrewarding and unfulfilling life
and create a new life.
The power that brought Him back from the dead was supernatural.
There is nothing natural about a persons overcoming death once
it has flaunted its final victory over life. That requires
supernatural power.
When you consider the powerful influence the habits of your old
lifestyle have over you, it is apparent no natural power can
overcome such force.
Up front here is an illustration of all that follows.
As a youth he suffered the grief of the death of his mother. His
dad wasn't an alcoholic, he was a drunk. He sought a way out of
his poverty by marrying young. The marriage was rocky from the
start. He kept the string of poverty and alcohol abuse alive in
his family. His wife left him and his poverty deepened. Broke
and broken he realized his hopeless and helpless plight. That
is, hopeless and helpless from a human standpoint.
From the pit of his poverty and drunken bondage he turned to
Jesus Christ for salvation and guidance. He went from place to
place seeking employment. A car dealer decided to take a chance
and relented giving him a job.
