And so we deal with this subject tonight, really with some trepidation, if you will, a little bit of caution tonight, because, we come to the seminal chapter in all of the Old Testament dealing with the sin, the consequences of homosexuality, and as you're going to see tonight, a worldly, fleshly, carnal Christian. If you're there in Genesis, chapter 19, and verse number one, say amen.

All right. Here's what the Bible says. ''Now the two angels came to Sodom in the evening, and Lot was sitting in the gate of Sodom. When Lot saw them, he rose to meet them and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground and he said, hear now my lords, please turn into your servant's house and spend the night and wash your feet. Then you may rise up early and go on your way. And they said, no, but we will spend the night in the open square. But he insisted strongly, so that they turned in to him and entered his house. Then he made them a feast and baked unleavened bread and they ate.''

Let me set the text for this evening's study as well as the next time that we come back together, because we're not even going to get as far as I wanted us to get tonight. Let me set the stage for this evening's text tonight. Somewhere around 15 years have passed in the life of a man by the name of Lot between the events that are recorded in Genesis, chapter 14 and the events that are recorded for us here in Genesis, chapter 19. When the curtain pulls back on Lot's life in our chapter for this evening, we see a horrible, terrible, doubly depraved scene, as if none of the lessons that should have been learned were actually learned.

Lot and the city of Sodom have become even more defiled and depraved over the preceding 15 years. Sodom had become even more vile in its sin. Lot had become even more involved in the sinful society of Sodom. What the Bible says in Genesis, chapter six and verse ...
