Today, I continue a series of five sermons where I speak to the NRHBC family. In these four messages I want to speak to the framing values for our church going forward. Paying attention to the values that have framed our church's past, I want to speak to the clarifying values that will frame our future. Another way of looking at this series on an individual level is to ask the following question: What did Jesus send His followers to do while waiting on His return? Think of these as vitamins for a healthy church. The first week we examined the epicenter of our church and any church - worship. Last week, I pleaded with you to have a heart of mercy for those inside and outside of our walls. You're never more like Jesus than when you show mercy to the poor and downtrodden.

We conclude the series with Vision Sunday, May 5. You can think of these five values as God's blueprints for a church. North Richland Hills Baptist Church has been a strong church in the middle of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex for more than fifty-five years. We have been a church that has been innovative without being trendy. If you have any familiarity with our church, then you recognize we haven't adopted the fad of the 90s where we drastically changed our services to be seeker friendly. Instead, our history is that we are a church who has not radically altering our worship services so that believers receive no benefit. Throughout our services and especially our time in preaching, we continually desire to be sensitive to the needs of those who are unchurched. So five values: Worship, deep teaching of the Word, intimate fellowship, aggressive evangelism, and compassionate social concern.
