DEVELOP THE RIGHT MIND SET FROM THE OUTSET

JESUS CHRIST has lovingly called us to be His servants. Such a
concept spoken of among people who hear so much about
independence, self-sufficiency, freedom, and looking out for
number one is revolutionary language. In an era when everyone
wants to do his or her own thing, finding a true servant of the
Lord is nearly as impossible as finding a black palomino.
To find one is a blessing. To be one is to find a life full of
meaning.
I spoke with Greg Brazina, former NFL All-Pro, a few days ago,
who said, "I have come to realize this one thing, Jesus is
everything to me. He is my only reason for living."
"Reason!" A lack of a worthy reason for living is the reason
for so many having a sense of futility in life. It is a primary
contributor to a sense of emptiness experienced by many. It
drives people to seek escapes from the realities of life. It
motivates people to look for right answers in all the wrong
places.
With this mind set many persons are caught off guard when
difficulties come along. Adversity seems to them to be an
intruder to be resented. With Christ as our interpreter of such
intrusions they are understood as opportunities.
I was with former Senator Jack Kemp last week. He spoke ofhis
refrigerator door as a household billboard. He noted one word of
erudition which states:
"WE LIVE CONFRONTED WITH UNIMAGINABLE OPPORTUNITIES THAT COME
DISGUISED AS UNSURMO ...
