Genesis 4:17-26
Illus.- Everybody wants to be proud of their family. Nobody thinks, ''I hope my family is an total embarrassment.'' You ever watch Family Feud? I used to love that show as a kid. On there... every family is awesome. They are all best friends. Dancing, clapping, encouraging. No one is yelling, no one is gossiping. - Stupid answers and all they are like best friends.
Our families help shape us and mold us into who we become. Our families can be marked by good traits or bad. - This morning we are going to see two families genealogies. They are related, but there is a split here.- One family line is marked by achievement and sin... the other is marked by God. One family is marked by a man who celebrates his sin, the other by a man who walks with God.- They point to the truth that ultimately there really are only two families on the earth. Those that are of the evil one, and those that have been adopted into the family of God.
The question this morning for us is which family do we identify with.?

Gen. 4:16-26- Then Cain went away from the presence of the LORD and settled in the land of Nod, east of Eden.
[17] Cain knew his wife, and she conceived and bore Enoch. When he built a city, he called the name of the city after the name of his son, Enoch. [18] To Enoch was born Irad, and Irad fathered Mehujael, and Mehujael fathered Methushael, and Methushael fathered Lamech. [19] And Lamech took two wives. The name of the one was Adah, and the name of the other Zillah. [20] Adah bore Jabal; he was the father of those who dwell in tents and have livestock. [21] His brother's name was Jubal; he was the father of all those who play the lyre and pipe. [22] Zillah also bore Tubal-cain; he was the forger of all instruments of bronze and iron. The sister of Tubal-cain was Naamah.
