The world is a place filled with sin. It's a dark place and a scary place. But in the midst of this dark world, God is at work. God's grace, His transforming work, and His work in and through the lives of His people shines brightly in a dark world. - Today we get a glimpse at that work from the days of Noah. If you grew up around church you have heard about Noah.
This story is a story of wrath and a story of grace. It terrifying and hopeful.--- But the world Noah lived in prior to the flood was a dark and scary place... because sin abounded.
Last week we saw in Gen. 4 - Line of Cain / Line of Seth- Call upon the name of the Lord- Gen. 5 family lineage. It is typified in Enoch, a man who walked with God and was no more...
In Genesis 6 we see the story picks back up again, centuries have passed. People are born, they live a long time, but then in the end... they die. They may live 700 years, but they die. There is only one man who doesn't, Enoch, he is delivered from death by God. So we see here... death has its way in the world, and the only way to escape the death sentence is God the Rescuer. Then in chapter 6 we are introduced to the world these many, many years after the Garden scene...
