GENESIS 2: 24
JESUS CHRIST said, "Have you not read that He who made them at
the beginning, made them male and female, and said, 'For this
reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to
his wife, and the two shall become one flesh'?"
(Matthew 19: 4,5).
On that I rest my case. If we are not willing to accept that
summary of sexual expression as God's intended norm, we open
ourselves to all sorts of perversions of His design and will.
Genesis 1: 27 contains a truth repeated in Genesis 5: 2:
"male and female created He them."
The basis of our sexual interpersonal relations is found in
Genesis 2: 24: "Therefore a man shall leave his father and
mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one
flesh."
There is only one "one-flesh" experience that receives God's
good housekeeping seal of approval. It is a monogamous,
permanent, heterosexual marriage. That is it. Period!
From creation to the conformation by Christ, that is it.
Have you ever thought what a utopian society would be created by
compliance with this standard? Unwanted pregnancies would
decline dramatically. Abortion would not be an issue. Sexually
transmitted diseases would virtually be eliminated. As a result,
medical expenses would be reduced radically. Rape would cease to
be. Homosexuality would not exist. The murder rate would drop
significantly and jail cells be empty, reducing the cost to
the state and hence, to taxpayers. Our entire political system
would be revised if these were not issues.
Conversely, we are kidding ourselves if we think these problems
