The Ark and The Flood (8 of 10)
Series: In the Beginning- A Study in Genesis

Genesis 6:11-8:19

The story of Noah's ark and the flood is no simple children's story. Cannon has a Bible flap book and you can open up the windows on the ark and see the animals. We all think about Noah's ark and we think about those smiling animals floating upon the waters in the wooden boat with Noah looking so happy, and peaceful. We think about the rainbow. -- People think how did all those animals get in there? How did he feed them? Do we realize this morning that this is one of the fiercest stories of God's wrath against sin in all the Bible? Now, this is a story of great hope, promise, grace, mercy. But it is also a story of fierce wrath and judgement. We don't think of the entire world of people at that time at the bottom of those waters. We don't think about the sin and rebellion that led to that flood. We don't think that of all the people on the earth only 8 were saved. --- I want us to look at this story today and learn something. ---- God's wrath is certain and just and there is only one way to avoid experiencing it, and for those of us who know that way who is Christ Jesus, we have a responsibility to point others to this great hope of salvation.

[15] This is how you are to make it: the length of the ark 300 cubits, its breadth 50 cubits, and its height 30 cubits. [16] Make a roof for the ark, and finish it to a cubit above, and set the door of the ark in its side. Ma ...
