I'VE GOT FRIENDS IN LOW PLACES
ISAIAH 9: 6
(PAGE 1012 COME ALIVE BIBLE)
JESUS CHRIST had His portrait verbally painted 732 years before
He was born. In anticipation of the birth of the promised
Messiah, persons envisioned what His coming would be like. God
the Father determined to define His Son so that He might be
known.
Strewn throughout the Old Testament are over 300 prophecies that
help to identify Christ. Peter Stoner in his book Science
Speaks, calculated the probability of coincidental fulfillments
of just eight Old Testament prophecies by chance. The odds are
10 to the 17th power. That is a 1 with 17 zeros after it. That
is one hundred quadrillion, 100,000,000,000,000,000.
Nice job Jesus, and to think He did that in just His birth.
There are those who go to such extremes as to say Jesus knew the
prophecies and sage the fulfillment of the 300+ contained in
Scripture. Well how did He stage His birth?
Imagination goes begging for understanding when the exodus of
the eternal member of the Trinity called the Son of God made His
exodus from heaven to come to earth. You see it in your way and
I in mine, but it could have been something like this.
Jesus walked down the quiet road of light. Passing a band of
angels they smiled that warm kind of smile you smile when
fulfilled and joyous.
He knew it would be as though He had never left once He
returned. Now, They who had shared eternity before the dawning
ofcreation were about to part.
He bid the Father farewell ...
