10 Concerning this salvation, the prophets who prophesied a bout the grace that was to be yours searched and inquired carefully,

11 inquiring what person or time the Spirit of Christ in them was indicating when he predicted the sufferings of Christ and the subsequent glories.

12 It was revealed to them that they were serving not themselves but you,

in the things that have now been announced to you through those who preached the good news to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven,

things into which angels long to look.

PRAY

There was a Michigan farmer, like many other farmers, who used a large rock to prop open his barn door. He'd kick his boots against it, he'd leave it out in the weather like any other rock, and he wasn't particularly concerned about it. He walked past it every day for 30 years.

But its odd shape and metallic color eventually intrigued him. So he decided to take the 22 pound rock to a geologist at a nearby university and he discovered that this was no ordinary earth-rock. It was from outer space.

The geologist who examined the meoteorite, which turned out to be 88% iron and 12% nickel- said it was the most extraordinary find she had ever handled. Apparently it has been part of a comet.

And get this- not only was it extraordinarily rare but it was extremely valuable! The farmer ended up selling it for hundreds of thousands of dollars. It might as well have been a 22 pound piece of gold!

Can you imagine the excitement he felt when he discovered its worth? When things like that happen you forget to breathe! You have to sit down!

And for all those years it was just a doorstop.
