Last week was the big day right? We celebrated an empty tomb. - We need to remember that the tomb is just as empty this week and the implications are just as real. The death and resurrection of Jesus has ramifications for our life not simply once a year... but every single day.

Jesus not only died to FORGIVE you so you can go to Heaven, He died to FREE you so you can live a victorious Christian life in the here and now.

We are calling this series in Romans 6-7, Finding Freedom. - A lot of people think they are free, but they aren't. They think freedom is living however they want, but the problem is the things they want enslave them. In this series starting today ... we will see where true freedom from. We will start with the thing that kills us... sin. - Every follower of Jesus wants to find freedom. We will see starting this week... if you are in Jesus... YOU ARE FREE. You need to walk in the reality of that freedom... in particular this week... the freedom from sin. ?

Think about it like this... we tend to think about what the gospel of Jesus... His life, death, burial, and resurrection... what it means for our eternity. We think how Jesus's gospel delivers us form the PENALTY of sin. We think about how we can go to Heaven and not go to Hell, how we can be forgiven of sin. - But... what about the POWER of sin? This concerns right now.

Sin is not just something we have to PAY FOR. Sin is also a controlling influence in our lives. It's not just like a crime, but also a drug. Every person is born with sin dominating us. We have a sin nature and are bent toward it. Sin wreaks havoc on our lives, relationships, our families. - Does the gospel have anything to say about this? YES.
