It'd be like getting a gift card but losing it... or the restaurant closes down. OR Someone buys a saltwater boat then their job transfers them far from the ocean. (Waste)

Good News this morning... Christianity is not a waste. - What Jesus has purchased for you on the cross he intends for you to EXPERIENCE. Functionally. Daily. Practically.

Today, we continue our series in Galatians called Free. At this point in the book Paul is getting ready to transition from laying down the doctrine, and from addressing the false teaching and move toward calling us to live in our freedom every day. - So today is like a turning point. - Paul is closing down one argument and transition to the next. The theme of Galatians is Freedom in Christ and the verse sums up what Paul is saying is Galatians 5:1- For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery. -

Why is it that Christians have been set free? Why did Jesus set you free from the condemnation of the law, from guilt, from shame, from idolatry, from being a slave to sin... why? FOR FREEDOM. - You are free... to experience freedom.

Jesus set you free in REALITY so that you will know freedom EXPERIENTIALLY. - The reality without the experience would be a WASTE. Jesus didn't waste it.

Remember, the issue at Galatia is there are false teachers telling the church at Galatia that Jesus is not enough. If they really want to be right with God, to grow to maturity, and to experience the fullness of salvation they need to also become Jewish.

Like the Galatians we too can be tempted to begin to look to other things beside Christ to make us feel right with God, to justify us. We can rely on rules over grace. We can even abu ...
