Psalm 37:1-4
Sometimes it seems that life isn't fair because evil people get away with their sins and prosper. A Dallas youth who had killed both of his parents was allowed to share their million-dollar estate. He was minor when he committed the murders and was found ''temporarily insane'' by doctors.
When he reached adulthood, the doctors said he was cured, and the judge decided he could go free. Nothing in the Texas law says a person can't inherit money from the person they have killed. We can become angry and frustrated because an evil person got away with murder and their million-dollar estate.
DIVINE JUSTICE :1-2 Command - Don't worry :1 Fret not - Heb. hot meaning angry, frustrated or upset (7,8). It could be translated; Do not worry.
Envious - Heb. jealous meaning you want what they have. Evil people may seem to have gotten away with their evil or to have life easy at the moment, but that is not the truth at all.
Reason - Soon gone :2 The grass grows green when it is regularly watered, but the truth is it quickly fades when the hot sun shines on it for very long. The truth is the evildoers will not last long before God punishes them for the sinful acts which they have done to others.
Charles Spurgeon - ''The destruction of the ungodly will be speedy, sudden, sure and overwhelming.'' God will surely judge the wicked for their actions so we are not to envy their behavior.
R.C. Sproul - ''When we step back from looking at the world from the perspective of second by second, we can begin to see the judgment against the wicked. As we live above time, we witness the reality that it is not the children of God but the wicked who are like the grass; they come and they go.'' SINCERE TRUST :3 Faith Trust - Heb. lean on because you have confidence in. Believe the truth that God will always do what is right.
