Romans 8: 28-29
Joseph was sold as a slave by his brothers. He was unjustly accused and put in prison by his owner's wife. Then, several years later he became Prime Minister of Egypt and saved his family from starvation when there was a seven-year famine. God worked the events together for the good of his chosen people.
Esther was a Jewish woman who was chosen to be the Persian queen. When a plot to kill all of the Jews was uncovered, she was challenged by her uncle to appeal for the lives of her people. Esther 4:14 He challenged her, ''Who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such as times as this?'' have God worked the events together for the good of his chosen people.
God works all of the events in our lives together, both the good and the bad ones, for us to become like Christ our Savior. Oswald Chambers - ''A Christian is someone who trusts in the knowledge and wisdom of God, not in his own abilities.''
Providence Our word providence comes from the word provide which means to prepare beforehand. Provide comes from the Latin word pro meaning before and video meaning to see.
Providence is defined as God's care, direction and guidance over his creation. Providence is the means by which God directs all things to accomplish his will. Even though the word itself is not found in the Bible the concept is clearly seen.
Providence tells us that the world and our lives are not ruled just by chance or by fate, but by God who is working out his plan in the world and in our lives for his glory and our good. God's plan for believers is that they will become like Christ.
