Colossians 1:9-14
Good morning. Welcome to The Chapel. We are taking nine weeks to walk through the New Testament book of Colossians. And the reason I chose this book is that I've noticed that Christians sometimes miss the main point. Even though the word ''Christian'' is obviously a form of the word ''Christ,'' sometimes we're not focused on Christ very much, and sometimes we don't resemble him very much. And so, in our culture, we can become known not for what we're for-Jesus-but for all the things we're against. Which is not a good thing. So the book of Colossians-which is actually Paul's letter to the Colossians-brings us back to the core of our faith. So last week, we read the first eight verses, and it's very warm, very personal; Paul talks about how thankful he is for their faith. So let's continue in verse 9, and we'll go through verse 14...

This is the Word of God.
Before I preview today's outline, I want to look at the first two verses, to set the stage. Look again at verse 9: 9 For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. So Paul is ab ...
