Good morning. Welcome to The Chapel. Has anybody been watching the NCAA basketball tournament this weekend-March Madness? Once again, the number one ranked team is Duke, coached by the legendary Mike Krzyzewski, who's considered one of the best of all time. You know what Coach Krzyzewski is known for? Fundamentals. Basics. Passing. Dribbling. Defense. They say the drills that he does in practice have not changed in 30 years. And that approach has produced incredible success. The best high school players in the nation want to play for Coach K, and the team just keeps winning.

So here's my point: we are taking a few months to walk through the book of Colossians. And when you read Colossians, Paul is like the coach who's drilling us in the fundamentals. We think we already know those, but we really don't. And the very center-the most basic of the basic-is that it's all about Jesus. It is so easy for us to drift away from that center, and get sidetracked into social issues or political issues, and Colossians relentlessly calls us back to Christ.

So today we come to chapter three. And the question that's on the table is this: when I see something in myself that is negative and dark and destructive, how do I change it? So let's make this personal: take a minute and think of something in yourself that needs to change. Can you think of something? Let me help you. Maybe it's fear. Anxiety. Your temper. Lust. Envy. Addiction. Unforgiveness. What's one thing that you need to change? Are you thinking of something? And so here's the question: what is it that can actually change what's wrong with me? It's a pretty important question-don't you think?
