JESUS CHRIST said, "Let not your hearts be troubled; you believe
in God, believe also in Me" (John 14:1).
He is in the business of encouraging the discouraged, of
inspiring the dispirited, and giving strength to the weak. He
wants to do the same for you today as He did for Solomon.
Often the moments and events that tend to discourage us, to
break our spirit, and reveal our weaknesses are mere tests. They
are tests of us and of God. Of us, to show our faith. Of God, to
show His faithfulness.
In I Chronicles 29, there is one of those experiences in the
life of Solomon that required him to push against the limits of
the possible. You have such times also.
David, the father of Solomon, had been directed by the Lord to
prepare for the building of the house of God and Solomon had
been commissioned to build it.
I. THERE WAS A RECOGNITION OF AN OPPORTUNITY I CHRON. 28: 20
In giving Solomon a promise, there was an opportunity for God to
show His faithfulness. This is a five-fold exhortation:
BE STRONG
BE OF GOOD COURAGE A young Greek soldier complained his sword
was too short. An older warrior said, "Add a step to it." In
times of trouble, add a step to your faith. Such steps as
resolution, determination, enthusiasm, and sacrifice.
DO IT Where there is a vision there must be a venture to gain
the victory. There comes a time when we can't just stare up the
steps - we must step up the stairs. T ...
