JESUS CHRIST said, "Come unto Me, all you who labor and are
heavy laden, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11: 28).
Is that your personal profile? Does "heavy laden" describe you?
Are you stressed out?
If so, welcome to the human race where everyone seems to lose.
Late in the evening in the research library of the University of
California at Berkeley, a young man went berserk. He ran through
the library hysterically shouting, "Stop! Stop! You're getting
ahead of me!"
What was his crime? It must have been being in the wrong decade.
Stress had finally caught up with him.
Speaking here in America, the Director of the National Institute
of Mental Health of England said, "The whole Western world is
under stress. It is one of the fastest growing diseases in the
world."
General Mills Corporation surveyed 15,000 people in a study
entitled, "Family Health in an Era of Stress." 82% indicated
they very much needed help in learning how to cope with stress.
In studies made by the American Academy of Family Practitioners
done over the last ten years, they concluded that two-thirds of
all patients seen by general practitioners have problems that
are stress-related.
Industrialists estimate that annually $75 million is lost due to
stress-related illness, injuries, or absenteeism.
Three sociology professors at the University of New Hampshire
released their research which revealed people in Alaska, Nevada, ...
