IS YOUR LIFE PRAYER CONDITIONED?

JESUS CHRIST said, "After this manner therefore pray..."
(Matthew 6:9).
We often get so wrapped up in analyzing the manner of prayer
that we forget that He said do it --- "pray."
Former University of Georgia football coach Vince Dooley
delights to tell of an incident in one of their games against
the University of Kentucky at the time Coach Curci was at UK.
It was in the final seconds of the game with UK leading by a
point. With time running out, Georgia had the ball within field
goal range and a member of this church, All-American Rex
Robinson, poised to kick the winning field goal when Coach
Dooley noticed Georgia had only ten men on the field.
Georgia was out of time-outs. Therefore, if they called time-out
to get another player in the game they would be penalized and
put out of field goal range. If the play was allowed to
continue, they would be penalized and put out of range.
Coach Dooley said he looked around for the player who should
have been in the game and there he stood right by him. The coach
said to the big tackle, "Tim, what in the world are you doing?"
Coach said he thought he had heard every excuse there was but he
wasn't ready for Tim's response: "Coach, I'm praying."
Looking out on the field, Coach Dooley was amazed at what was
happening. UK had called time out to try and "freeze" Robinson.
Coach Dooley turned back to Tim and said, "Son, you have a good
prayer life. Coach Curci just called time out and saved your
life. Now get in the game."
Tim, the missing eleventh man, entered the gam ...
