JESUS CHRIST entered the temple in His day and found it being
used for corrupt purposes. He said, "It is written, 'My house
shall be called a house of prayer,' but you have made it a 'den
of thieves'" (Matthew 21:13).
The blind and lame came to him in the temple and He healed them.
A group of stodgy religious leaders complained and criticized
Him. The little children there collectively began saying,
"Hosanna to the Son of David!"
Again, the religious leaders complained about their praise and
Jesus answered them: "Have you not read, 'Out of the mouth of
babes and nursing infants You have perfected praise?'"
(Matt. 21: 16).
He later informed them that if He silenced the little children,
even the rocks would cry out in praise. Christ commends praise.
The Lord so endorses praise that the scripture says, "The Lord
inhabits the praise of His people" (
Therefore, let's make this a place of His habitation. Let's do
it by making our individual hearts a center of celebration of
His loving and goodness. Praise has always been becoming of His
people.
Are you an "All Things" team member? I Thess. 5: 16 & 18 says,
"Rejoice always ... in everything give thanks..."
There is an Old Testament occasion of praise from which we can
gain insight into public praise. It should motivate us on this
occasion to praise and celebrate the work of our Lord in our
