Introduction

1. Two young boys were just mischief makers. They were always getting into trouble. They disrupted class in school, picked on other kids and took things that didn't belong to them. The teacher, the principal, and their parents were just exasperated. They were at the end of their rope.

2. One day the mother asked her pastor to come and see if he could talk some sense into them. Threats and punishment hadn't worked so the pastor thought he would take a spiritual approach. He wanted those boys to know that God was always around. He sees and knows everything and nobody gets away with anything. So he thought he had figured out a way to get to the boys for good.

3. He set them down and said, ''Boys, I've got a question for both of you and tell the truth, 'Where is God?''' The two boys just kind of sat there not quite sure how to answer. The pastor got a little irritated and raised his voice. He said, ''Where is God? I know you boys know the answer to that question.'' Well, now the boys really were so frightened they couldn't say anything. The pastor jumped to his feet flustered and said, '' For the last time Where is God?'' One boy jumped up and grabbed the other boy and said, ''Steve, let's get out of here. God is missing and they think we did it!''

4. There is a train of thought out there led by groups ranging from the New Atheists, to many scientists, and many philosophers who say that God is missing, because God is not there. They deny that there is any evidence for God's existence. Many say that God is just a crutch to help us get through life's difficulties or cope with the problem of death. God is a creation of our own imagination to try and make sense of this world that we live in. Others say evil and suffering in the world makes him either a bad or an impotent God even if he does exist.
