Guys will do 4-6 of these close to summer. Need to come up with series around music and songs.

Introduction

1. There are sicknesses and then there are sicknesses. Doctors were recently asked their opinion on the most terrifying, horrifying sicknesses in history. These were their top 3. The first is what is called the ''black death'' or now known as the ''plague.'' Although it happened almost 700 years ago, classrooms across the United States still learn about it. It was caused by a single bacteria carried through the air by rats and fleas. It caused the death of 75 million people - 60% of the population of Europe.

2. The second disease they listed was smallpox. CBS News says this may be the worst disease ever known to humanity. Between 1880 and 1980, it killed about 500 million people until it became the first disease ever to be irradiated from Earth. It killed 5 European kings in the 18th century alone and 80% of the children under 5 years of age died from the disease. This disease hits home with me, because in 1918 my grandmother buried a 3-year-old girl and a 6-year-old son in the same week from smallpox.

3. The last disease is HIV/AIDS. Globally, 75 million people are now infected with this disease and 36 million people have died. Though there are drugs to manage it, as of now, there is no cure for this disease.

4. There is one sickness that is worse than all of those sicknesses and any other sickness you can imagine put together. The cause of this sickness and the symptoms of it are described in a song that was written by a king. The king was David and the psalm was a song. [Turn to Psalm 51].
