THE RAPTURE
I THESSALONIANS 4: 13 - 18

JESUS CHRIST said, "I go to prepare a place for you, and if I go
and prepare a place for you I will come again..."
(John 14:3).
Just when we had snuggled into our warm comfortable world, along
comes two messengers alerting us to needs in our lives for the
Lord. One is animate and the other inanimate. The animate one is
named Saddam Hussein and the inanimate one is called recession.
These two have abruptly revealed that the god of materialism is
an unstable and inadequate idol.
Bank and savings institutions have shown instability, real
estate values have plummeted, major corporations once considered
reliable economic bases have gone bankrupt, and long-time
employees of firms thought to be stable have been laid off.
Economic forecasts are gloomy. Seven of the ten factors used to
project economic trends are gloomy.
Uncertainty clouds any would-be sunny economic prospects.
A warmonger has threatened the world with such abandon as to
draw us into a war in order to try to find peace. Families have
been separated and stress has been precipitated on households
divided.
Secular news media say they are being inundated with questions
regarding the end times and Armageddon. Is our world on the
brink of Armageddon? Could tomorrow bring the end of the world?
This is a time to search the Scripture for certain answers in an
uncertain time.
Two major events are spoken of in I Thessalonians chapters 4 and
5.
One is referred to as the rapture. The word itself isn't found ...
