1) We serve others in Love.
2) We serve others with our gifts.
3) We serve others INSIDE the church.
4) We serve others OUTSIDE the church.

INTRODUCTION: When we lived in Virginia Tami and I attended a retreat for ministers and wives at the beautiful Founders Inn in Virginia Beach. There were some workshops and receptions along with downtime to just spend together. At one reception I noticed a nice spread of refreshments had been provided including boiled shrimp, sliced kiwi, fresh strawberries and punch. So I dived in. Tami thought it might be a wedding reception so she hung back with the kids. After a few minutes of indulging myself I was approached by a stern-looking man in a suit and asked to leave. Turns out I had, in fact, crashed a wedding reception. Those goodies were for the insiders and I was an outsider.

We've been talking about ''Serving Others'' this month but the question on the table today is this: Is our service to others for ''outsiders'' as well as ''insiders?'' There is no question that we are to use our time, talents and treasure to serve those INSIDE the church. But what about using our gifts for those OUTSIDE the church? Are we supposed to do that? What form should that service take? Where will we find the time? Great questions and I'm glad you asked. Let's make four observations today about serving others outside the church.

I. GOD WANTS US TO SERVE OTHERS OUTSIDE THE CHURCH
Lk.6:33-35 ''If you do good only to those who do good to you, why should you get credit? Even sinners do that much! Love your enemies! Do good to them.''
