A M E R I C A
(Statewide Day of Prayer)
(Persian Gulf Crisis)
Who was God's agent to stop:
Wilhelm Hohenzollern and his spiked-helmeted, heel-clicking,
goose-stepping battalions astraddle bleeding Poland? AMERICA.
Hitler, his Stukas, his Panzer divisions, his Dachaus?
AMERICA.
Hero Hito, his Zeros, Kamakazis, his Imperial marauding?
AMERICA.
The Communist Red tide, "the slave state," that swept the world
with seemingly unstoppable fury? AMERICA.
Who stood as the model of freedom that inspired the enslaved of
Eastern Europe to aspire to be free? AMERICA.
God has not only blessed America, He has blessed many other
nations of the world through her.
THIS VERY DAY IN THE DESERT OF SAUDI ARAB there are young
executives, hourly laborers, illiterates and Phi Beta Kappas,
farm boys and office girls, miners, mill workers, shop keepers,
entrepreneur, and administrators, side by side committed to
stopping yet another despot. They are called by none of these
designations. They are known as Americans.
Some curse us because we have not fed them as well as they would
like while forgetting we have fed them better than they have
ever been fed while no one else offers to fed them.
Some despise us and chant derogatory slogans in front of cameras
in their streets which they haven't even taken the initiative to
clean.
Yet America has funded more causes, rebuilt more collapsed
economies ...
