WHAT CAUSES EVEN ALMIGHTY GOD TO GIVE UP?
ROMANS 1: 18 - 23
(PAGE 1645 COME ALIVE BIBLE)
JESUS CHRIST is more concerned about your holiness than about
your happiness. He knows you will only be truly happy when you
are holy.
"And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by
wicked works, yet now He has reconciled in the body of His flesh
through death, to present you holy, and blameless ... in His
sight" (Col. 1: 21, 22).
That is the model intended by the true and living God for you.
Be ye holy!
Our word "holy" comes from the Greek word HAGIOS which basically
means separated. It was used by the Greeks to refer to that
which was dedicated to the gods. In Scripture it came to mean
that which was separated from sin and dedicated to the Lord.
The word "holiness," HAGIASMOS referred to conduct befitting
those separated to God. Now that you know the Biblical use of
the word, hear again the exhortation --- "Be ye holy!"
At the moment of salvation you allowed God to separate you from
sin unto Himself. You live with the challenge of letting Him
live in you so your conduct is befitting one separated.
In the book of Romans our Lord describes the varied base
conditions He finds us in. Two options are available to persons
herein described. You can be made holy, or you can cause even
God to give up on you. Consider - - -
