It is called the New Age movement.The New Age assault has become so mixed and mingled with Established values and institutions that it is hard to identify It. Wheat and tares have never looked so much alike. It is not a cult though there are cults in it. It is not a Classic religion, though there are religious groups involved and It is involved in many religious institutions. In contrast to orthodox Christianity, which accepts the Bible as
Its authoritative source, the New Age movement has no ultimate Truth. Adherents do not believe in a personal God who has Ultimate truth.
Basically it is a combination of Hindu polytheism and village Religion dressed in a business suit, carrying a credit card and Driving the most faddish car. It is encouched in Western Sophisticated terms and uses the latest business techniques.I attended one New Age Expo and heard a prominent lecturer say, ''Not all people are open to spiritual values, but they are open To success. So we invite them to success seminars and teach them Spiritual values. Many conscientious Christians have naively Gone to such seminars thinking they were basically positive Thinking, motivational clinics. Many major corporations have Sponsored such workshops without being aware of what they were Doing.
Years ago C.S. Lewis said that the ultimate conflict would be Between Christianity and Hinduism for Christianity excludes all Gods but one and Hinduism includes all gods. The New Age Movement includes ...
