ILLUSTRATION: The Myth of the Clutch Hitter
Baseball fans will be familiar with the phrase - Clutch Hitter. This is the guy who can make a crucial hits to win the game when the score is close in the final minutes of the game.
But studies have proven that the idea of a clutch hitter is a complete myth. The stats even reveal the top hitters in baseball actually average a 13 point drop in their overall batting average when the game is on the line.
What happens on the Baseball diamond is no different from what happens in every aspect of life. When temptation strikes are the person who overcomes is generally the same person who has consistently learned how to deal with temptation day in and day out in the normal ebb and flow of life.
