Welcome to those watching online, on the internet and those at our campuses.
Introduction
1. Today, I am going to share something with you that I have never shared publically. It happened when I was a junior in high school. I am still embarrassed and ashamed even to admit this. In fact, I never, ever, told my parents. I have never told any of my family except Teresa. When you find out what it is some of you may laugh and say, ''That's it?'' It was a big thing to me then and it is still a big thing to me now.
2. Not to brag, but I was always an excellence student. I was a straight A student, graduated very high in my class, and graduated with honors from college. I wasn't the smartest, but nobody outworked me. Frankly, I prided myself that almost any subject I took came easy to me from the 1st grade, but then I hit this brick wall called ''chemistry.'' I believe the biggest difference between heaven and hell is chemistry. In chemistry, you have to learn to balance chemical equations and I never got the hang of it.
3. We were taking an exam three weeks before our final exam and Mrs. Hall had promised everyone who work make at least a ''b'' that you would be exempt from the final exam. The problem was the exam was nothing but balancing chemical equations. Well, I had never cheated on an exam. I didn't have to, but about two equations into the exam, I was as confused as a goat on AstroTurf. Those equations literally looked like Latin to me and I panicked.
4. I have learned there are smart cheaters and there are dumb cheaters. I think I am the dumbest cheater who ever lived, because I had my chemistry book underneath my desk and I just kind of pulled it halfway out and started turning pages. I got so engrossed in it that I never saw Mrs. Hall come storming by my desk, snatched up my paper, looked at me and said, ''See me after class.'' I was left there with all of my classmates ...
