Boaz suddenly shows up and guess who is busy working among his reapers; it is Ruth, the Moabitish Maiden. He wastes no time in inquiring as to whom this strange woman was that was working in his field.

This tells us a lot about Boaz and his leadership because he was fully aware of a new person that was laboring among his workers. Boaz teaches us that everyone is somebody and ought to be treated with respect and reverence.

The man that managed the workers was quick to give his boss an answer. He informs Boaz that this is none other than the daughter-in-law of Naomi and that she had been laboring in the fields since early morning.

Boaz then tells Ruth that she is not to go out seeking any other fields, but that he is offering her free range in gleaning in his fields. He told her that none of his men would harass her and when they ate she could eat and when they drank she was free to drink.

Ruth is overwhelmed that Boaz, being a mighty man, would even consider showing kindness to her, since she was a stranger from Moab. Boaz informs her that her testimony had preceded her and that he knew of her good treatment to Naomi and in turn, Boaz was going to reward the maiden.

Boaz informs his foreman to ensure that Ruth was not forbidden to come up between his workers as she gleaned. On top of this, they are told to drop her some ''Handful's on Purpose'' which was not ...
