Romans 5:8-11
For the past 11 weeks we have talked about apologetics and answering objections that skeptics might have= How can you say there is only one true religon- or doesn't science disprove christianity?
It's helpful to know how to answer these questions-
but fundamentally, most these don't prove christianity itself. They prove theism.
Theism is true but theism doesn't get you to heaven.
Anthony Flew- famous atheist philosopher- became a theist- Christians praised it.
You not only need to believe that there is a god (everyone believes in a God- only 3% of US is atheist) you need to believe in the God who is.
You need to believe in the Gospel
And when I say that I'm not talking about the Gospels (i.e. Matt, mark luke john). I'm taking about the message of the Gospel i.e. the ''good news''
So what is the Gospel?
It is so deep. Paul Washer wrote trilogy of books about 1000 pages defining the gospel. The truths of the gospel are unfathomably deep. It's such an amazing message-
but it's also a simple one. It can be defined in one sentence?so quesiton- What exactly is the Gospel? How do people define it (both right and
wrong answers)?
''God will forgive your sins is you believe in him''?''God loves you and has a wonderful plan for your life''?''You are God's child and God wants his children to be successful every day''

but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. 10 For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life.
