YOU CAN HAVE A VITAL PRAYER LIFE
I JOHN 5: 14, 15
(PAGE 1780 NEW KING JAMES)
JESUS CHRIST said, "...men always ought to pray and not lose
heart..." (Luke 18:1). People should pray. It is a courage-
builder, an insight-gainer, a life-changer.
I Thess. 5: 17 instructs us to "pray without ceasing." How can
this be done? It doesn't mean to constantly be uttering prayer.
It means to relate everything you think and do to Christ. It is
an encouragement to stay in tune with the Lord.
In flight the cockpit radio in the plane is on at all times.
There are times when it is silent. However the channel is open
and all signals indicate there is contact.
Some years ago one of our sons-in-law gave me scuba diving
lessons in Hannama Bay in Hawaii. At first I was aware of every
breath I took. Soon I was breathing reflexively with ease. The
same is true of prayer. The more we do it, the more it becomes a
natural part of life. Have you matured to the point where prayer
is your first resource rather than your last resort?
There are five things that will aid your prayer life. I want us
in thinking about them to relate them to praying for revival.
