In the nineties there was a nationwide survey that asked- If you could ask God one question what would it be?

The most common response was ''Why is there pain and suffering in the world?''

Unless you've grown up in a bubble, you would never deny that there is evil and suffering in the world.

In 2016 there were some 1,441 confirmed terror attacks in the world with over 14 thousand fatalities.

Most of these were in the middle east. Some were here such as the guy who shot everyone in a Florida nightclub.

There are currently 10 wars going on. The worst of which is in syria between Isis, syrian rebels, and the syrian government that commits war crimes against its own people. Can you imagine how evil someone has to be to release nerve gas over your own people?

Just in the city of chicago last year there were 750 homicides last year.

But when we consider deaths and suffering even due to nonviolent means, it's staggering.

Approximately 3 million children per year die of hunger each year. THat's one every ten seconds. So in the 2 minutes I have been speaking 12 children have starved to death.

Nearly 8 million people die per year of cancer.

There are approximately 20-30 million slaves in the world today and the average price is 90 dollars. 4 out of 5 are sexually exploited.

In the US 1 in 5 girls and 1 in 20 boys are victims of child sexual abuse.

But it's easy to talk about statistics without getting personal. These things are all out in the world. For most, It's not close to home-

Just last week there were over 50 heroine overdoses in 48 hours here in toga county.

A few months ago, There was a meth lab bust on riberolle street where 6 people were arrested. There were toddlers in the home.

Some months ago a 6th grade girl from Morris was riding her bike down 287 and was stuck and killed by a hit and run driver.
