A Living Hope for a Dying World

I Peter 1:3-5
One of Peter's main messages was that the ''end of all things is at hand'' (4:7). Before he got to that message however he wanted his readers to also know that there was hope for everyone as they came face to face with the end. Peter wanted all readers of his epistle to know that there is a sure and certain hope of eternal life for everyone.

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, 5 who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
OUR HOPE OF ETERNAL LIFE IS ROOTED IN REGENERATION (THE NEW BIRTH)
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
The hope of eternal life is neither automatic nor universal. This hope belongs only to those who have been born again through faith in Christ. Eternal life is impossible apart from the Holy Spirit's regenerating power. How do we know we've been born again? A changed life is a good place to start.
OUR HOPE OF ETERNAL LIFE IS RELEASED BY THE RESURRECTION
